FISHING SEASON ANGLERS’ PREPARATIONS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Fishermen in Carterton and district are overhauling their gear in readiness for the fishing season, which commences in October. Regulations under the Fisheries Act, 1908, were gazetted on Thursday night setting out particulars of where angling may or may not take place in various rivers in the Wellington district. Brilliant Aurora. Last evening the southern sky was lit up with a brilliant display of the aurora australis and the beautiful red and other shaded rays were admired by many observers. Parkvale Dance. A reminder is given of the final dance and card evening to be held in the Parkvale Hall tonight. This dance will be the last one by the Patriotic Committee to raise funds for soldier comforts. There is sure to be a large attendance of the public. Personal. Mr B. A. Corcoran, of the Wellington Meat Export Company, is the guest of Mr and Mrs V. L. Robinson, Rhodes Street, Carterton.
