HOME GUARD
MASTERTON BATTALION ROUTINE ORDERS. NEXT WEEK’S PARADES AND CLASSES. Next week’s routine orders for the Masterton Battalion of the Home Guard are: Classes—Officers: Tuesday. September 23 at Municipal Hall at 7.30 p.m. Lieut. Wood on Messages and Reports. Officers are requested to bring note book and pencil. N.C.O.’s: Tuesday. September 23. at Municipal Hall at 7.30 p.m. Lieut. Jackson will demonstrate night compass work in open country. P.T.: Tuesday, 'September 23, at College Assembly Hall at 7.0 p.m. Signallers: Parades as arranged by the signal officer. Ambulance: Will parade on Thursday. September 25 at St. John’s Rooms at 7.0 p.m. Parades. —A Coy at Drill Hall and C Coy at Municipal Hall. Thursday, September 25. at 7.0 p.m. Battalion Headquarters and A and C companies at respective drill halls, Sunday. September 28 at 8.0 a.m. March to aerodrome to Pipe Band which will parade at Municipal Hall at 8.00 a.m. Parade will be held wet or fine. Company commanders will have alternative programmes ready in case of rain. (Other units as arranged by unit commanders.)
Miniature range practice, Rifle Platoon. —F Coy Commander will supply a detail of approximately 40 men to parade at Malmo’s Garage, Chapel Street, on Thursday, September 25, at 7.15 p.m. for range practice. Rifle Platoon will make arrangements and supervise.
inspection of rifles. —All rifles issued to individual members of the Home Guard and not already inspected must be handed to Q.M. Sgt. Jenkins, 80 Bannister Street, Masterton, not later than Monday, September 22. Transfers, promotions and appointments. —Guardsman E. R. Kjestrup to Company Clerk. C Coy. with rank of Corporal.
