Fifty alleged Communists were shot at Belgrade, as a reprisal against the fatal stabbing of a German soldier. Nevertheless assaults against German troops, even in the centre of Belgrade, are increasing. The Berlin news agency admitted that Slovak military communiques appeared to confirm that the Slovak Army has not participated in operations on the Eastern front for a certain period recently, because of desertions and disorder. It is announced in Berlin that Herr Terbovan has decreed the death penalty in Norway for sabotage, strikes, lock-outs and incitement to go slow. A Paris radio message stated that Judge Didier, who refused on September 2 to take the oath in proceedings arising out of attacks against the Germans, has been sent to a concentration camp.
