Mrs C. Davidson, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs W. Pickett, Rakaunui. Mrs L. F. Owen has returned to Pongaroa from a visit to Wellington. Mrs A. M. Theed, of Pongaroa, is a visitor to Palmerston North, where her daughter is a patient in a hospital there. The death occurred at Hastings on Wednesday of Mrs Sarah Sievers, widow of the late Mr George Sievers, formerly of Carterton, at the age of 81 years. Her Excellency Lady Newall has accepted the position of lady president of the Nursing Divisions of the St John Ambulance Brigade, within the Dominion of New Zealand.
