MRS J. L. MUTRIE
WILL BE 88 TOMORROW. SPLENDID RECORD OF PUBLIC SERVICE. An old and highly respected resident of Masterton. Mrs J. L. Mutrie, of Hessey Street, Masterton, will celebrate her 88th birthday tomorrow. Mrs Mutrie, who is the widow of Mr Alex Mutrie, in the past took a keen and active interest in the welfare of Masterton, and has a splendid record of association with movements which had for their object the advancement of the town and district. Giving her services freely over a long period of years she has had the satisfaction of seeing those objects brought to a successful finality. During the 1914-18 war period she rendered excellent service of a patriot character and won the queen carnival contest held in Masterton.
The residents of Masterton will wish Mrs Mutrie many happy returns of her birthday.
