MINOR RAID
MADE ON ALEXANDRIA AREA. ENEMY PLANES BEAT HASTY RETREAT. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.25 a.m.) RUGBY, September 18. A communique, issued by R.A.F. headquarters in the Middle East, states: “A small force of enemy aircraft dropped a number of bombs in the Alexandria area last night. No serious damage or casualties were caused. Night fighter aircraft of the R.A.F. took off to engage the enemy, but the raiders made off before any interceptions could be effected.
