MASTERTON ART CLUB
CRITICISM AND SOCIAL EVENING. The Masterton Art Club’s criticism evening, which was held last night at the residence of Mrs L. T. Daniell, Akura Road, was well attended. One or two new members were welcomed. Mr S. B. Maclennan, the club’s art critic, conducted the criticism. An apology for absence was received from the president, Mr A. E. Clemas. A wide variety of work was presented, including landscapes in water colour and oils, flower studies and pastels and a model of a horse from life. Mr Maclennan gave a criticism of each person’s work, dealing with the colour, balance, and the treatment of water’ colours generally. Supper was served, following musical items, cards, and table tennis. Members are reminded of a business meeting to be held in the Bannister Street Hall on October 2.
