GOLF CLUB LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIPS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The first round of the championships in connection with the Greytown Ladies’ Club will be played on Saturday in conjunction with an L.G.U. modal round. The order of play is as follows: —Seniors: Miss Nix v. Mrs Thompson (commencing at 12.45 p.m.); Mrs McPhee v. Mrs Maddison (12.49 p.m.); Mrs Gold v. Mrs Jury (12.53 p.m.); Mrs Mead v. Miss E. Gregor (12.57 p.m.). Intermediate: Miss J. Feast v. Miss B. Gregor (1.1 p.m.); Miss M. Collier v. Miss P. Tully (1.5 p.m.); Mrs C. Ingley v. Mrs G. Ingley (1.9 p.m.); Mrs R. Ingley v. Miss R. Collier (1.13 p.m.). Juniors: Miss Quinn v. Miss Bouzaid (1.17 p.m.); Mrs Nicholson v. Miss Askew (1.21 p.m.); Mrs Gregor v. Miss Wiggins (1.25 p.m.); Miss M. Wood v. Mrs Wiggins (1.39 p.m.); Miss Higginson v. another. All players are requested to adhere to the times of starting.
SWIMMING CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. At the annual meeting of the Greytown Swimming Club there were present: Misses N. and M. Keltic, P. Allen, Messrs C. Anker, I. Kellie, RPickard, J. F. Wallis, and J. Reid. An apology for absence was received from Mr I. Falconer. Mi* Wallis was elected chairman. The annual report and balance sheet were read and adopted. The balance sheet showed a credit of £l4 14s. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year;—Patron, Mr W. A. Tate; president, Mr J F. Thompson; vice-presidents, Messrs H. Keltie, C. W. Brown, F. Dennes, F. Dewhirst, N. W. Horton; F. J. Brooks and J. Reid; secretary, Mr N. Keltie; treasurer, Mr J. F. Wallis; auditor, Mr G. Scrimgeour; club captain, Mr I. Falconer; vice-captain, Mr N. Keltie; local officer, Mr R. Pickard; handicapper, Mr R. Pickard; council delegate, Mr H. C. Trotman; centre delegates, Messrs W. D. West and N. N. Oldershaw; committee, Misses P. Allen, M. Keltie, Messrs C. Anker, I. Keltie, I. Falconer, R. Pickard; secretary and treasurer, exofficio. It was resolved that subscriptions be the same as in previous years —men, ss; ladies and intermediates, 3s; juniors, 2s. At the request of the chairman all present stood in silence for a few moments as a mark of respect to the late Mr Walden, Mrs Dennes, and Mr Alec Haigh. It was decided that £5 be donated to the Patriotic Society. A donation of £1 was received from Mr J. Reid with thanks. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the retiring officers, and to Mr Pickard for the use of his room in which the meeting was held. Personal. Mr L. Strange, who has been a member of the counter staff of the Post Office, has received notification of his transfer to the communications branch, Wellington.
