WEST SCHOOL
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. | DENTAL CLINIC PROPOSALS. Dental clinic matters were fully discussed at a meeting of the Masterton West School Committee, held last night, over which Mr R. S. Graham I presided. The committee, it was I stated, was fully aware of the position ' and was taking measures to meet it A special meeting would be called in the near future to discuss ground development and .clinic affairs. It was decided to forward a letter of condolence to Mr E. R. Rogers, ’• expressing the sympathy of the committee in the death of his mother. Accounts totalling £3l 14s, were passed. The report of the headmaster, Mr J. P. Farrell, showed the roll number to be 353. The attendance was much more satisfactory owing to a considerable improvement in the health of the children. The proceeds of a Id concert. 14s, had been spent on two Christmas cakes for the fighting services. According to the inspection report, very good progress was being made with every phase of school activities. Special mention was made of the quality and orderly arrangement of the written work, especially in the senior classes. The school was fortunate in j being able to share the sendees of a / specialist in physical education and in having on its staff a music specialist whose services were being used as freely as possible. The mouth organ band was performing enthusiastically under his direction. Order, tone and discipline throughout the school were very good.
