THIS IS DELICIOUS

MERINGUE PIE. Beat the whites of 4 eggs until stiff, but not dry, gradually add Hb. castor sugar, 1 desertspoon cornflour, and 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 teaspoon vinegar. Line a round tin with buttered paper and pour into nearly all the meringue; cut a round of paper the same size as the cake tin, and place small spoonfuls round the inside of paper, or the meringue may be placed in a forcing bag made from greaseproof paper and a border forced out on to paper. Bake meringue for 1 hour in a slow oven, then carefully lift out of tin and place on serving dish. The centre will fall in, but this hollow can be filled with fruit salad, ice cream, strawberries or raspberries. Arrange the border on top and serve.
