PLANT NOW
FRUIT TREES AND ROSES. Already there are signs of spring in the budding leaf and bursting flower. They should be a warning to those whose plantings are not yet complete. The weeks go swiftly by and intending planters have no time to lose. Unless fruit trees and roses are put in the ground during the next few weeks, they cannot be expected to make much progress this season, for branch and leaf development arc dependent on root development. Masterton gardeners should remember that with the ground moist a few fine days will bring away growth at a rapid rate.
