LANSDOWNE COMMITTEE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN. SCHEME APPROVED OF. The usual meeting of the Lansdowne School Committee was held last evening, Mr J. G. McFarlane presiding over a fair attendance of members. Accounts amounting to £2 13s 6d were passed for payment. The headmaster’s report to the meeting showed a roll of 271, the attendance still being affected by mumps. Mrs E. B. Jones has been appointed as supernumerary teacher. The grounds are in good order. The use of the motor mower is now necessary to cope with the growth of grass. An emergency scheme has been prepared for the protection of the school children, and has been approved by the committee.
