ARMY OFFICE,

NEW QUARTERS TAKEN UP LARGER ACCOMMODATION NECESSARY. TERRITORIALS CENTRE STILL AT DRILL HALL. The Army Area Administration Office in Masterton, which hitherto has been located in the Drill Hall, has shifted to the second floor of the old "Age” office in Lincoln Road. This move hase been necessitated by the need to secure more commodious accommodation in 'view of the greatly increased amount of work being handled by the area on account of war conditions. The Drill Hall will remain the centre of all Territorial activities. The new offices are established in four rooms. In future, the following members of the local Army staff will be located at. this office: Lieut. R. C. Wood, area officer: Mr R. Foster, in charge of mobilisation: Corporal A. Dewar, sick and wounded records; Private J. G. Hannaghan, area records. The staff, it is understood, is to be increased to six. The area administration office will retain the Army Department’s telephone number 1326. At the Drill Hall, the following will be located: Warrant Officer 11. C. Morris. Ist Battalion Ruahines; Warrant Officer 11. J. Hair, Independent Mounted Riffles and Staff Sergeant W. Ashdown, Wellington-East Coast Mounted Rifles. The new telephone number for the Drill Hall will be 1994.
