MASTERTON SALE

The Associated Auctioneers report on the Masterton sale held yesterday as follows:—Only a small yarding of sheep was offered. Prices were generally on a par with last week’s and weaner pigs, of which there was a fair entry, showed an improvement on previous markets. Prices realised were as follow: — Sheep: Fat ewes, 17s 8d; fat ewes (shorn), 14s; fat woolly wethers, 29s 9d; fat S.D. ewes, 20s; fat S.D. wethers, 21s 9d; fat shorn hoggets, 18s 9d; fat woolly hoggets (light), 19s; one spring b.f. lambs, 30s 6d; ewes and lambs, all counted, 12s 6d. Cattle: Fat heifers, £6 15s; dairy cows, £6. Pigs: Weaners, 19s to 235; light, 17s.
