GOLDEN WEDDING
MR AND MRS J. HOBMAN. Mr and Mrs J. Hobman, residents of Kilbirnie, Wellington, for the past 34 years, celebrate their golden wedding anniversary today. This afternoon they will be the guests of the Women members of the Maranui Methodist Church. Mr and Mrs Hobman were foundation members of this church. Mr Hobman was born at Greytown. His grandparents arrived in Wellington in 1840 by the Martha Ridgway, his father being born in Wellington in 1842. Mrs Hobman came to New Zealand from Cornwall at the age of two years with her parents, Mr and Mrs Wm. Tom, who settled at Dalefield. They were married at Greytown by the late Rev. Mr Rowse, and three of the bridesmaids, now Mrs Hawke, Mrs Greathead, and Mrs Hall (Stoke), will be present at an evening gathering. The family consists of four sons and three daughters, and fourteen grandchildren. Every member of the family is in Wellington for the occasion, as well as many other friends and relations from other parts of New Zealand.
