GOVERNOR-GENERAL
OFFICIAL VISIT TO MASTER lON ON SEPTEMBER 25. ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE DAY. An official visit is Io be paid to Masterton on Thursday, September 25, by Hie Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall and Lady Newall. Sir Cyril Newall has expressed special desire to meet primary and secondary school children, the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides. It is proposed, therefore, to hold a gathering of young folk in the Masterton Park in the morning, at which the Girl Guides and Boy Scouts will provide the guard of honour. A civic luncheon will be held at the Midland Hotel, to which the representatives of all local bodies in the Wairarapa will be invited. This will be followed by a civic reception at the Municipal Hall. Sir Cyril Newall will also visit the Masterton Hospital and will pay an informal visit to the Masterton Club. It is hoped that Lady Newall will visit the Ranfurly Club and the Galway Guild. Their Excellencies intend to return to Wellington in the afternoon.
