PARCELS FOR PRISONERS

SHIPMENTS FROM CANADA. OTTAWA, August 29. The Canadian Red Cross Society has shipped 20.000 parcels for the Australian. Red Cross to prisoners of war in Germany. Thirty thousand more arc in course of preparation. Parcels are shipped at. the rate of 5.000 each week via New York and Lisbon to Geneva, whence they are distributed in various camps by the International Red Cross. Tire parcels for the Australians were handled by volunteer workers of the Quebec Provincial Division of the Red Cross Society. For nearly a year Toronto also has been shipping 10,000 parcels a week to British prisoners of war.
