WANGANUI MEETING FINAL DAY RESULTS. GUINEAS WON BY FOREIGN COIN. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., September 7. The Wanganui Guineas, the feature event of the Wanganui Jockey Club’s spring meeting at Awapuni on Saturday, was won decisively by the Wel-lington-owned and Trentham-trained Foreign Coin. Foreign Coin had run unplaced in the Flying Handicap the first day, so he was only fifth in demand in the classic in an eight-horse field, of which two were bracketed, but he Avon decisively. Track conditions were in his favour. There were only five runners in the first tWo-year-old race of the season, and it was won decisively by the Spiral filly Damask, who is related to many good horses bred at Koatanui Stud. The weather was not favourable, but it could have been a great deal worse. Light showers were experienced throughout most of the afternoon, and there was a Very heavy downpour just before the running of the seventh race. After that the weather cleared, and there was bright sunshine, but the enclosures were very muddy, and the track was always heavy and cutting up.
