SHIP-BUILDING

OPERATIONS IN CANADA. OTTAWA. August 29. Over 17,000 men are now employed on steel ship construction in Canada At the peak of the programme, which probably will be reached between December, 1941, and March. 1942. over 30,000 men will be required in shipyards. Further, it is estimated that the number employed in the manufacture of ship components is equal to the number employed in the shipyards.
