ALLIED VICTORY

WILL BE WITHIN GRASP AT END OF THIRD YEAR. JAPANESE NEWSPAPER'S PREDICTION. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) TOKIO, September 6. In a remarkably outspoken article the newspaper, “Japan Newsweek,” says that by the end of the third year of horrible carnage victory should be within the grasp of the Allies. The situation at the opening of the third year of the war is such, the newspaper adds, that, though there is no evidence that the ill-founded plans of the Nazis have been defeated, the momentum of the Germans has been definitely arrested. However well Hitler may have planned his march for world domination it is now quite apparent that even he is fallible, the paper says. A later message states that the Government has suppressed the current edition of the “Newsweek,” following the publication of the antiAxis article.
