PRIME SHEEP MAKE GOOD VALUES. FAT COWS IN DEMAND. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report as follows: —A yarding well up to advertised numbers came forward yesterday. Butchers were keen for prime sheep and these made good values, the enquiry for ewes being particularly strong. Only a few store hoggets were offered, but these sold well. Springing heifers and cows were not up to last week's values. Fat and forward condition cows were in demand. Pigs made late values. Realisations were as follow: — Sheep: Prime b.f's., to 31s; prime hoggets, to 30s; fat hoggets, 22s to 24s 6d; fat wethers (woolly), 27s 3d, 28s 7d to 30s 6d; fat wethers( shorn), to 23s 9d; fat hoggets (shorn), to 18s; light fat hoggets, to 19s; prime heavy ewes, to 21s 6d; fat ewes, 17s, 17s 6d to 18s; light fat ewes, to 15s; wether hoggets, to 15s. Cattle: Jersey cows, just calved, £6 10s to £7; Jersey cows on drop, G.S., £lO to £11; springing Jersey cows, £6, £7, £8 to £8 15s; springing Jersey heifers, £7, £B, £8 2s 6d to £9 ss; Jersey heifers, just calved, to £7; fat cows, £4 15s to £6; forward cows, £4 to £4 10s; -store cows, £2 17s, £3 to £3 12s; cows and calves, to £4 16s; empty heifers, - £4 5s to £4 16s. Pigs: Baconers, £3 Is to £3 13s; porkers, £2 6s to £2 10s; light porkers, 38s to £2; sows with litters, £4 10s to £6; choppers, 20s to £2 2s; store pigs. 27s to 31s 6d; slips, 24s to 265; weaners (good), 23s to 26s 6d; weaners (medium), 20s to 22s 6d; weaners (small), 15s to 19s.
