STUD SHEEP
SHIPMENT FROM WAIRARAPA. SENT TO SOUTH AMERICA. Despite the present day difficulties in securing overseas transport a particularly valuable shipment of stud sheep, numbering nearly one hundred head, was recently despatched from the Dominion by Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., to the United States, Argentine and Uruguay. Another notable lot of rams for South America comprised 43 Lincoln, 24 bred by Mr Wm. Rayner, Masterton, 15 bred by Mr E. T. Wilton, Rangitumau, and 4 bred by Mr L. R. Wilton. Amongst the latter's lot was his noted champion ram at the Wairarapa Show, while Mr Rayner’s valuable, consignment included most of his prize-winning rams of the past season. The Romneys were selected from some of the Dominion’s leading flocks and were a very representative lot. They included 2 bred by Mr R. W. Matthews, Waiorongcmai.
