WOMEN’S DIVISION

SUCCESSFUL SHOP DAY. APPEAL FOR SMALL BOTTLES AND JARS. The monthly meeting of the Women’s Division of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union and a successful shop day were held in the Rest Room, King Street, Masterton. Mesdames E. J. Wright and McLean were’ equal in the scone competition. Members were asked to note that all knitted garments for the merchant navy are to be left at the Rest Room not later than September 17 for packing. Small bottles or jars for herbs can be left at the King Street room or in the large box in the Arcade. The dried herbs: needed for men overseas are sage, thyme, mint, parsley, marjoram and chives. A public meeting for women over 21 years of age to discuss social problems has been arranged for September 17. The time and place will be advertised later. The meeting decided to postpone the October shop day.
