Moscow radio states: "At 4 a.m. on August 30 Teheran was the subject of a severe air bombardment which lasted till 10 a.m., causing heavy damage and casualties among the population. "It has been ascertained that this bombardment was carried out by young Iranian pilot officers who disagreed with the Iranian Government which decided to discontinue resistance to the Soviet entry into Iran. "The bombardment of Teheran was repeated on August 31. “There is every reason to presume that this action was undertaken on the instigation of German Fascists in the country who have had some influence among the young Iranian pilot officers.”.
