CARTERTON
RACING CLUB INCREASE IN MEMBERSHIP.. (“Times-Age” Special.) The membership of the Carterton Racing Club has been increased by the election of some 20 new members. Personal Items. Mr Arthur Playle, of Dalefield, who has found it necessary to enter the Masterton Hospital for treatment, successfully underwent an operation on Tuesday. Private Henry Morris, of Rhodes Street, Carterton, left last Monday for Waiouru Camp where he will undergo training for three months. Mrs Millichamp, of Levin, is a visitor to Carterton and is the guest of Mrs A. Knutson. Private J. T. Bridge, who has been in camp at Dannevirke, is on leave in Carterton. He will later report to Trentham. Miss C. Wadham, of Chester Road, Clareville, who is to be married shortly, will be tendered a “parcel evening” and dance by the residents of Clareville and district in the Clareville Social Hall on Friday, September 12. Dance at Belvedere. On Friday evening next smother popular dance will be held in the Belvedere Schoolroom. Good music and supper will be provided.
