PURCHASE OF SHEEPSKINS
INVESTIGATION OF METHODS. MINISTER APPOINTING COMMITTEE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day.. Mr J. G. Barclay (Minister for Marketing) announced that he had decided- to set up a committee to fully investigate the present method of appraisal, packing, fellmongering and eventful sale of woolly sheepskins- in the Dominion. The members of the committee will be Messrs H. M. Christie, Government representative (chairman), R. C. Burgess, Sheepskins Controller, one producers’ representative, to be nominated by the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board, one butchers’ representative to be nominated by the New Zealand Master Butchers’ Association, and one brokers’ representative, to be nominated by the Wool Brokers’ Asso-
ciation. The purpose of setting up the committee is to ensure that the system of purchasing sheepskins is operated to the best advantage of farmers and butchers throughout the Dominion, and it is- expected that the committee /■will commence its work within the next few days. Persons who can assist the committee are urged to submit their evidence in writing.
