MR R. G. MENZIES
TRIBUTE BY AMERICAN NEWSPAPER.
BELONGS TO THE WORLD’S PUBLIC LIFE.
(Bv Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) WASHINGTON, August 30.
The “Washington Post,” in an editorial, says that the resignation of the former Australian Prime Minister, Mr Menzies, is easily understood. He had a stature independent of title. That stature had grown under war responsibilities in a measure which recalls that of General Smuts during the first World War. The worth of Mr Menzies impressed Americans during his recent visit here. He belongs to the world’s public life, the'paper says.
