There has been an increased inquiry for potatoes this week, and the price has risen accordingly. Today whites were at £lO ss, Dakotas at £lO, and Suttons at £ll 10s to farmers. The announcement that Australian potatoes were to be brought into the country came too late to have any effect on the market, but it is bound to cause disturbance. The rest of the markets are quiet, the weather having suspended interest in the small seeds trade in the meantime. Chaff has weakened.
