EKETAHUNA
' STORMY WEATHER LOSS OF LAMBS AND SHEEP. (“Times-Age” Special.) There has been considerable mortality among lambs as a result of the recent stormy weather. Many weakly sheep have succumbed owing to the rigorous conditions which have been experienced during the past few weeks. The Dairying Industry. I The dairying season opened well and despite the bad weather a good supply of milk is being received by the various factories in the district. Many of the factories report an increase in the supply of milk due mainly to additional cows having been added to herds. Cricket Season. There does not seem to be much prospect of Eketahuna having a senior team in the Bush Cricket Association’s competition this season as enlistments have resulted in many erstwhile players being either overseas or in camp. Business Methods. Business in Eketahuna during the winter months has been up to the usual standard, despite the difficulty experienced in obtaining many lines. The service has been of the best, however, the various firms recognising that this is one of the chief essentials of successful business methods. Prices, too, are lower in many cases than those prevailing in other centres, and, generally speaking, Eketahuna has a business community which is alive to the) requirements of its customers, and which strives to give high class, service with values as low as possible.
