RECEPTION IN WASHINGTON. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) WASHINGTON, August 28. The New Zealand Minister of Lands, Mr Langstone, held a reception for the Prime Minister, Mr Fraser. The hundred prominent persons who attended included the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives, Mr Bloom; the LeaseLend programme expediter, Mr Harriman; the chairman of the Maritime Commission, Admiral Land; the chief of the State Department’s Far Eastern Trade Division, and the Soviet. Chinese, Greek Netherlands and British Dominion diplomats. Mr Fraser will meet the Secretary of the Navy, Colonel Knox, tomorrow and will broadcast over the National Broadcasting Company’s network at 9 p.m.
