DOMINION STOCKS
COMMENDED TO BRITISH INVESTORS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day. 11.55 a.m.) LONDON, August 29. Commentators have not been slow to notice the good opportunities' provided by Australian and New Zealand Government stocks at their recent moderate valuations. The “Financial Times" describes the Commonwealth 1961-66 stocks as an obvious alternative to requisitioned Canadian stocks. The “New Statesman’s” financial commentator, like others here, still fears further Dominions’ war-time conversions, but expresses the opinion that four per cent coupon loans are immune. He therefore advises buying New Zealand, South Australian, Tasmanian, New South Wales and Western Australia four per cent specified issues.
