MARTON SUGGESTS SAVING ELECTIONEERING BY RADIO. BROADCASTING OF SPEECHES BY CANDIDATES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) MARTON, This Day. A recommendation to the Government that, to conserve petrol during the election campaign, use of the radio for the broadcasting of all candidates’ speeches be introduced, is to be made by the Marton branch of the New Zealand Labour Party. The recommendation points out that a great amount of petrol would b'e 'saved, both by candidates and by electors travelling to meetings, and suggests the use of the auxiliary as well as the main stations, proposing that the Rangitikei electorate be served through 2ZA, Palmerston North.
