COSY THEATRE
“MAD ABOUT MUSIC.” Trio programme which will be featured tonight at the Cosy Theatre is “Mad About Music,” featuring Deanna Durbin. Her voice is at its’s best when she sings Gounod’s “Ave Maria,” with the Viennese Boys’ Choir, “Serenade to the Stars,” “Chapel Bells,” and "I Love to Whistle,” with Cappy Barra’s Harmonica Band. The supporting cast includes Herbert Marshall, Gail Patrick, Arthur' Treacher and Helen Parish. The associate feature is “Risky Business,” featuring George Murphy. Dorothea Kent, Eduardo Ciannelli, Leon Ames, El Brendel and Richard Tucker head the supporting cast. Murphy became a coal miner after leaving college. When a ton of anthracite dropped on him one day and injured him seriously, he became successively a real estate salesman, dance hall manager, dancer and finally, a screen actor. As a radio commentator in “Risky Business,” Murphy has ample opportunity for fast talk. In fact, when the story involves him with a gangster mob, it places him in a position where his life depends on his ability to talk and act fast.
