FEATHERSTON
EUCHRE PARTY IN AID OF CHRISTMAS PARCELS. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a fair attendance at the euchre party held in the Red Cross Society’s rooms yesterday afternoon when the sum of £4 Is 6d was realised towards the fund for the Christmas gift parcels for the local soldiers overseas. In the card tournament Miss M. Nix and Mrs Baker tied for first place. The competitions were won by Mrs Batty (cake) and Miss Florence McKay, Levin (box of chocolates). Goods were donated by Mesdames E. Perry, H. Lawson, S. Batty, R. P. Hardy and Nielson. 1 Slight Earthquake. A slight earthquake was felt in Featherston a few minutes after 7 o'clock last evening. Personal Items. Mrs Brady, Wellington, is spending a few days in Featherston and is staying at the Empire Hotel. Mrs Keeton, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs C. C. Corlet, Pahautea. ■ Mr and Mrs J. E. Willett and family left today to spend a holiday at Waikanae Beach. Mr and Mrs F. S. Hayes are visiting Wellington for the holidays.
