BID FOR KINDERGARTEN

SUM OF £25,000 MENTIONED. OFFERED BY AUSTRALIAN SYNDICATE. (Received Thi£ Day. 11.45 a.m.) SYDNEY. Tiffs Day. The reported offer of £25.000 for Kindergarten has not surprised Mr Ralph Stewart, owner of Beau Vite. “When the Australians want a good horse, they are real go-getters," he said, “but they negotiate mysteriously. An offer pf £25,000 was made for Beau Vite by an Australian syndicate of five about two years ago. They dealt through a bank. I never learned their identity. I turned down the offer because Beau Vite was not for sale at any price.”

Mr Stewart said he was sure Mr Fitzgerald would want a tremendous price for his horse. jHe had offered Mr Fitzgerald £G,OOO for Kindergarten in January, but the offer received short shrift, although it was understood that taxation was the cause.
