WEDDING

McWHINNIE—SNOWSILL,

A quiet but smart wedding took place at St. Matthew's Church, Masterton, on August 11, when Nancy Boyer, only daughter of Mr and Mrs W. T. Snowsill, late of Gisborne, was married to Albert Sampson (“Darkle”), second son of Mrs and the late Mr J. McWhinnie, of Masterton.

The Ven. Archdeacon E. J. Rich officiated at the ceremony. Mr Miller Hope presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted, by her father, -looked charming in an English tweed pastel checked costume with marine blue accessories. Her beautiful bouquet was made of spring flowers to tone with her ensemble. - The bridesmaid, Miss Mary Truscott, was attired in a cornflower blue angora wool frock, with a pompadour hat to match and navy accessories. She carried a pretty bouquet. Mr P. Watson carried out the duties of best man. The guests were received in the lounge of the Hotel Midland by Mis Snowsill, who was attired in black, with fur coat and matching accessories. She was assisted by Mrs McWhinnie, v/ho wore a black and white check dress. Telegrams of congratulation were received by the bride and oriaegroom from friends all over New Zealand and also from Australia. Mr and Mrs McWhinnie later reft for the south where they spent their honeymoon.
