LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST FAIR AND COLD. FURTHER SHOWERS BUT IMPROVING. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:—
DISTRICT FORECAST: Gradually decreasing southerly winds. Weather cold with some further showers, but improving. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Fair and cold. LOCAL REPORTS. Miss A. M. Brown reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:— Barograph, 30.19. Shade temperature: Maximum 48.7, minimum 41.4, terrestrial 39.4. Sunshine, 1 hour 25 min. Rain, 55 points. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 46 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today.
