WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

MEETING AT TE ORE ORE. WINNERS OF COMPETITIONS. (•'Times-Age” Special.) The Te Ore Ore Women’s Institute recently held its monthly meeting at the school, the president, Mrs Mcßae, presiding over a fair attendance of members. A vote of sympathy was passed with Mrs Karaitiana in her recent bereavement.

Maori members presented some delightful items, several action songs, poi dancing, and the long poi, those taking part being Mrs Nini, Mrs To Tau, Misses T. Haeata, E. Pura, W. Nini and Waipuka. The competitions resulted as follow: —Ginger biscuits: Mrs McDonald 1, Mrs Costello 2, Mrs Te Tau 3. Bost bloom: Mrs Nini 1, Miss Tankersley 2. Mrs McLauchlan 3. Wandering shilling: Miss Jaques.
