Brices of fruit and vegetables in the Wellington markets this week are quoted as follows: — Passion fruit, 16s to 30s a J-case: grapefruit, New Zealand, 8s to 13s a bushel case; lemons, Meyer. 10s to 17s 9d a J-case; tree tomatoes, 8s to 12s 6d a J-case; mandarins, 17s to 23s a Jcase.
Tomatoes, 2s to 3s a lb.; green peas, Is to Is 3d a lb.; pumpkins, 5s to 20s a sack; potatoes, 13s to 15s 6d a cwt.; potatoes, Nelson, 3d to 31d a lb.; onions, 10s to 15s a cental bag; kumcras, 7s to 10s a sugar-bag. Sprouts, 15s to 27s 6d a banana case; cabbage, 4s to 10s 6d a sack; cauliflowers, 7s to 13s 6d a sack; lettuce, 5s to 17s a case; cabbage, spring, 5s to 8s a case; spinach, 17s to 27s a case; silver beet. Is 6d to 5s 3d a case. Marrows, 5s to 7s 6d a case; leeks, 9s to 14s 6d a case; parsnips, 8s 6d to 12s 6d a case; swedes, 5s to 6s 6d a case; beetroot, 4s 6d to 8s 6d a case; celery. Auckland, 20s to 29s a case; carrots, 4s to 8s a case; rhubarb, 14s to 20s a dozen bunches.
