KAITUNA
ENJOYABLE GATHERING PRESENTATIONS TO SOLDIERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) A very enjoyable time was spent in the Kaituna Hall.on Tuesday night when Corporal J. Welch and Private J. Laing were entertained by a large number of friends. Mr J. West supplied the music for the dancing and Messrs Trevor Hick and F. McKinstry played extras. The Monte Carlo dance was won by Private R. Turner and Miss Sylvia Johnston. Mr A. Kier was a capable M.C.
On behalf of the settlers in the district Mr F. E. Calvert presented Corporal Welch and Private Laing with gifts as a token of goodwill. Mr W. James presented each of the guests of honour with an Eversharp pencil from the Fernridge school pupils. The recipients suitably replied. Supper was provided. The arrangements for the gathering reflected the greatest credit upon those responsible.
