A German commandant near Brussels had a trick played on him by the Belgians. Rumour spread through the city that British troops had invaded the country and occupied a local barracks. When the commandant rushed there he found no British troops, but copies of two British national daily newspapers—published on the same morning! How they got there is a mystery. But the invasion story was, of course, untrue.
