It was washing-day. and the young husband was. doing all he could to help. Loaded up with a basket of clothes, wringer, washboard, soap and soda, he still hesitated. "Have I forgotten something?" asked his wife sweetly. “Yes,” he replied. “I was thinking that if you were to tie the handle of the broom to my braces, I could sweep the stairs cn. my way down!”
