COSY THEATRE
“THE RAINS CAME.”
Hailed as one of the great motion pictures of all time, “The Rains Came,’ will be shown tonight at the Cosy Theatre, with Myrna Loy,. Tyronne Power and George Brent sharing stellar honours. This powerful story of human emotions at the breaking point and human lives at the climax, while the untamed forces of nature ravaged the earth, has been faithfully retold in this film, in which all the colourful characters are brought to vivid life. Myrna Loy is seen as the amorous Lady Esketh, Tyronne Power has his most romantic role as Major Rama Safti, and George Brent plays the world-weary Tom Ransome. Brenda Joyce has the role of young Fern Simon, while others featured in the great cast are Nigel Bruce, Maria Guspenskaya, Joseph Schildkraut, Jane Harwell, Marjorie Rambeau, Henry Travers and H. B. Warner. The supporting feature, “Quick Millions,” featuring that noted family of the screen, “The Jones Family,” is the best cf a happy series. It is full of fun and excitement and will keep the audience in roars of laughter.
