DRUIDS’ LODGE
BUSINESS AT QUARTERLY MEETING. SOCIAL COMMITTEE’S PROGRAMME. The quarterly meeting of Stonehenge Lodge of Druids, was held in the Foresters’ Hall, Masterton, last night. A.D. Bro. A. G. Swinn presided over a large attendance of members. Three new members were elected into the order. Several past officers were present and were welcomed by the A.D. Satisfactory reports were received on members on the sick list and sick pay and accounts for £3l 12s Id were passed. The social committee reported that the dance held last Saturday had again exceeded the previous record and that those present had’ spent a most enjoyable evening. The music had been supplied by Messrs J. West and A. Barnes and extras were played by Miss Hawke and Mr H. Hood. A Monte Carlo waltz competition was won by Miss Pauling and Mr Evans. In the unavoidable absence of Mr W. R. Pawson. the duties of M.C. had been ably carried out by Mr S. Smith. P.A. Bro. C. N. Cole stated that the social committee had met last week and a most satisfactory programme had been drawn up and would be put into effect in the near future. P.D.P. Bro. G. W. Milne was thanked for having presented his P.A. collar to the lodge. P.A. collars are unobtainable at present and will continue to be so until after the wai. P.A. Bro. Swinn was invested with the collar. A welcome was extended to P.A. Bro. A. F. J. Kilgour, who is proceeding overseas on active service. The A.D. presented him with a useful gift to take with him as a memento of the friendship of officers and members of his lodge and wished Bro. Kilgour a safe and speedy return. Bro. Kilgour returned thanks. At the conclusion of the lodge business a social evening was held and supper was served by the ladies committee.
