DALEFIELD-MATARAWA.'
MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. ("Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Dalo-field-Matarawa Institute was held in the Matarawa school, and took the form of a social gathering. Mrs Callister contributed a song, and Mrs K. Hodder a recitation. Mesdames Callister and Rogers read letters received from Privates H. Broughton and Stan Joseph, thanking them for parcels received from the Institute. The competition winners were as follows: —Seniors: Baby's singlet.—Mrs E. I. Smith 1. Mrs W. Knowles 2, Mrs McLaren 3. Decorated vase. —Mrs W. Knowles 1. Mrs O. Brazendale 2. Mrs Rogers 3. Juniors: Decorated vase. — Miss Vena Knowles 1, Miss Joyce Goodin 2, Miss Beth Sadler 3. Fancy work. —Miss Joyce Nielsen and Miss Iris Zillwood, equal, 1; Miss Vena Knowles 2, Miss Joyce Goodin 3. A letter was received from the Rev. B. J. Williams, of the Seamen’s Mission. thanking the Institute for a parcel of garments. Each member was asked'to bring to the next meeting a square for the making of a quilt. The judges, Mesdames N. Peacock and Dr. Adams, were presented with shoulder sprays, and Mrs Callister was handed a small gift in appreciation of the work she had done on behalf of the Institute.
