NATIONAL UNITY
DEPUTATION POSTPONED.
UNTIL RETURN OF PRIME MINISTER.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day.
The People's Movement announced today that a deputation, arranged io wait on, the Government and the Onposition to urge the formation of a National Government and the postponement of the general election, had been deferred until the Prime Minuter returns.
The movement stated that, as Mr Nash had said no decision on the elections could bo made until Mr Fraser’s return, it was obviously better t-e postpone the deputation until direct representations could be made to Mr Fraser, as well as to Mr Holland. “In the meantime,’’ it was added, “we trust that all those who believe in national unity will continue to do what they can towards the objective.” An election this year would bring further disunity, and they looked to Mr F~iser to follow Mr Churchill's lead wnich, in a recent statement, he had approved so whole-heartedly.
