NATIONAL SAVINGS
PROGRESS AT MASTERTON. MANY NEW ACCOUNTS OPENED. The latest figures in connection with the National Savings movement in Masterton indicate that a steady increase in the number of new accounts is being maintained. During July 124 new accounts were opened and the total number of accounts opened to date is now 1767. Group accounts continue to be set up and the membership of those already in operation is being increased each week. The figures for this section of the movement are now 53 groups with, a membership of 600 depositors. A reminder is given to employers and employees who have not yet supported the group scheme that now is the time to get behind the movement and to join up with their colleagues who are contributing regularly and are ably assisting the Dominion’s war effort on the home front. An opportunity is provided under this scheme for every patriot to make available his shillings for war finance. The latest group accounts set up are those opened by the employees of the following firms: N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., Reliance Tyre and Rubber Co., W. H. Long and Son. H. J. Jones and Co., Ltd.
