SERIOUS & DELICATE
BUT NOT IRRETRIEVABLE FAR EASTERN SITUATION. NEW ZEALAND PREMIER’S VIEW. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) LONDON, August 11. The “Evening Standard” diarist says the New Zealand Prime Minister (Mr P. Fraser) regards the situation in the Far East as serious and very delicate, but not irretrievable. Mr Fraser said: “The New Zealand Government and people stand foursquare in this matter with the United Kingdom and other Dominions. They are ready to face calmly and confidently whatever is coming.” Mr Fraser has returned to London after touring the leading cities of Britain, where he addressed many gatherings on the subject of New Zealand’s war effort and the New Zealand Expeditionary Force’s fighting in Greece and Crete. Mr Fraser gained an excellent impression of the manner in which the British people have stood up to bombing and of the keenness of the industrial workers.
