In a brilliant display of scientific wrestling, singularly free from caveman tactics, Joe Corbett (America) beat Ken. Kenneth (New Zealand) on points over eight rounds in the Wellington Town Hall last night. EXCITING CONTEST. A DRAWN BOUT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND.’ August 11. One of the most exciting wrestling matches seen in Auckland took place when Fred Atkins, Australia, drew with Pat Meehan, United States. Each man obtained a fall. Meehan was awarded a penalty fall in the fourth round, when Atkins made use of his knee. Atkins drew even in the seventh round when, after a succession of elbow jolts, he lifted his opponent for a slam and body press.
