MASTERTON CLUB GAMES SATURDAY’S RESULTS. FOURBALL BOGEY ROUND. A, fourball bogey competition played on the Lansdowne links on Saturday by members of the Masterton Golf Club resulted: E. Henderson and J. G. Thompson 6 up, R. Weston and H. Bell 5 up, R. E. Baker and W. Kummer 5 up, R. Mackie and H. J. Nitz-3 up. RIVERSIDE RETURNED SOLDIERS' TROPHIES. Excellent weather conditions favoured Riverside Golf Club players in the competitions for the Returned Soldiers' trophies on Saturday afternoon and quite a number of good cards were handed in. The men played a stableford round which was won by R. Wearne with 38 points, the next best cards being J. Ewen 36, F. Hallam, B. Braggins 35, R. Bell. E. Reid 33. The ladies played a medal round which was won by Mrs Skeet with 72, and further cards were Mrs Brown 73, Mrs Clarke, Mrs Connell and Mrs Emery 74. In a further stableford round R. Bell won with 40 points, A. Bell second, 37. Championship matches played during the week were: W. Palamontain beat D. Costello, G. Ruston beat T. U. Wellington, B. Braggins beat H. Bannister. Rehandicaps are: R. 'Wearne 6/5, R. Bell 7/5, G. Longworth 14/11, B. Braggins 16/12, J. Ewen 26/20. MAHUNGA CLUB STABLEFORD BOGEY. The following were the best cards handed in by members of the Mahunga Golf Club in connection with a stableford bogey competition played on Saturday:—N. Hoar 37, K. McFarlane 37, H. Wehipeihana 37, J. Thornton 36. LADIES’ GAMES. A stableford bogey competition was played by the lady members of Mahunga Club on Saturday, the following being the best scores:—Miss 0. Long 34 points, Miss Wyber 34, Miss Robinson 33, Miss Allison 33, Miss Gaynor 33. INTER=CLUB MATCH EKETAHUNA BEAT MAHUNGA. Eketahuna defeated Mahunga in a golf match played at Mahunga yesterday, by 16 games to 13, two being squared. A feature'of the day's play was the achievement of J. Dickson, of Eketahuna, who holed at the fifth in one, a distance of 168 yards. He received the congratulations of the club on his success. Details of the section results are: — Men’s fourball, Mahunga 3, Eketahuna 3; men's singles, Mahunga 6, Eketahuna 4, with one squared; ladies’ fourball, Mahunga 1, Eketahuna 3; ladies’ singles, Mahunga 3, Eketahuna 6, with one squared.
